Our computer system has the manufacturers recommended oil viscosities and weights for each car/light truck make and model. Unless you specify otherwise we will add Shell (this is the same formula that was known as Havoline) oil in the recommended weight. The base price includes up to five quarts of Shell oil, other brands available for a bottled oil surcharge rate. There is a per-quart charge for cars that require above five quarts. Also, our computer remembers the last oil brand and weight that we added so that on future oil changes we pour your previously requested choice. Return to top On each oil change we will replace your oil filter with a new one. Shell oil filters are made by Purolator and meet or exceed all of the manufacturers warranty requirements. The pit technician, after removing the old filter, receives instructions from the topside technician about which filter to use. This is part of our challenge and response procedure. Surfaces are cleaned and gaskets are checked and the new filter is installed. Certain cars with very expensive filters have an extra charge. These cars are usually some high-end imports, canister filtered vehicles, diesels and high capacity trucks. After the new oil is added we perform a pressure check to insure the integrity of the new filter. Return to top If your car has grease fittings we will lubricate them on each oil change. We use the finest lithium based grease available. Return to top On all automatic transmissions the fluid level is checked and if low, fluid will be added. We have all of the various fluids required, including ATF for Chrysler transmissions, Hondas, Toyotas, Land Rover, etc.. Return to top On rear wheel drive vehicles the differential fluid is checked and if low, fluid will be added. We also check transfer case level and front differential level on four wheel drive vehicles. Certain vehicles require a synthetic fluid, we stock that as well. Return to top The topside technician performs a visual check of wiper blades and if they are cracked or torn will advise the customer. Often blades have become ineffective and yet do not show signs of wear and tear. However, for those blades in need of replacement we carry a wide range of wiper blades. For an additional cost, the windshield can be treated for higher performance and better visibility. Return to top On each oil change, if possible, the engine air filter will be removed and shown to the customer. The customer then is able to make an informed decision regarding air filter replacement. This also allows the customer to monitor air filter wear on each successive oil change. This follows our policy of allowing the customer to determine specific automotive needs, rather than being pressured into buying decisions. Many vehicles also have a cabin air filter as well, which is usually changed according to manufacturer's recommendations. Return to top The inside of your vehicle will be vacuumed, and if requested, we'll vacuum your trunk. Don't worry, we see some very dirty cars and we have a very powerful vacuum! Return to top Tire pressure is checked and set on each oil change. Should your vehicle have a tire pressure monitor, please let us know if we need to reset it. Let us know if you would like for us to check the spare as well.. Return to top On each oil change, if possible, the radiator cap is removed and antifreeze level is checked. If fluid level is low, antifreeze is added. Freeze/boil protection level of the fluid can be checked if you request. Return to top On each oil change brake fluid level is checked and if low, fluid is added. We use either DOT 3 or DOT 4 depending on required type. Return to top On each oil change power steering fluid level is checked and if low, fluid is added. Return to top On manual transmissions that have clutch fluid reservoirs the fluid level is checked, and if low, fluid is added. Return to top On non-maintenance free batteries water level is checked and if low, water is added. On maintenance free batteries the battery eye is checked for battery condition. Return to top On each oil change washer fluid is added. Return to top On each oil change the customer receives a free car wash. Should the car wash be out of service on that day, keep in mind the code you are issued will be good for one week. If you are not able to use it during that time, no problem, just give us a call and let us know the old code, and we will issue you a new one free of charge!Return to top On each oil change the customer may chose from over ten different air freshener fragrances. There is no additional charge for the air freshener. Fragrances: new car, leather, cherry, spearmint, tropical breeze, potpourri, tutti fruitti smokescreen (for smokers) and more. The air freshener is a spray, not the hanging kind, so there is no need to worry that it will clash with your interior decor. Return to top On each oil change we will inspect the belts and hoses for any visible damage and report the results to the customer. Our location keeps a stock of belts on hand at all times, and can obtain hoses, should the customer decide to have any damaged items replaced. Return to top On each oil change we will check the running lights, turn signals, brake lights, and head lights and report to the customer any outages. Each location keeps a stock of replacement light bulbs should the customer decide to have any replaced while at our store. Return to top Tire wear can be due to many causes, and can be dangerous if not noticed before severe damage is done.
