Leak Detection Service
Florescent dye is added to the freon in your system and allowed to circulate.
This dye will show up under UV lights, and since the system is supposed
to be a closed system and is not supposed to leak, UV lights and special
glasses will help us find your problem. A standard leak detection service
costs $85 and will include up to one additional pound of freon as needed.
Empty systems that take more than one pound may have an extra charge.

Recharge for cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, and RVs
A standard recharge usually takes about 45 minutes and costs $85, including
up to one pound of freon. A system that has been depleted and needs more
than one pound may have an extra charge. Leak detection is included free
in a recharge, just ask at the time of service.

Repairs on any R-134a system
Once you know where your failure is occuring - a leaking part, a clogged
part, a rusted line, a seized compressor - we can quote you on replacement
and repair. If you don't know where your problem is coming from, leave it
to us to do the diagnosis.

Conversion of (pre-1995) R-12 systems to modern R-134a
If your vehicle was manufactured before 1996, you might have an old freon
called R-12 in it. This was deemed hazardous to the environment many years
ago, and there are heavy fines imposed by government authorities for allowing
this hazardous chemical into the environment (i.e., leaking). We do not
work on leaking R-12 systems and we do not recharge with R-12. If you have
one of these older systems, you'll probably find it harder and harder to
obtain the freon as well as find someone renegade enough to want to work
on it. Converting to R-134a will be an easier way to get service done when
it is needed. Depending on what parts need to be changed to do the conversion,
a system conversion may start around $150 and go up from there if you have
old, rusted, broken parts or need more replaced than just the freon and
the fittings.

Diagnosis of A/C problems - mechanical or electrical
failures
Depending on the nature of the problem, diagnosis can take as little as
15 minutes or as much as an hour or two. Sometimes the problem is obvious,
sometimes the problem may be behind the dashboard, somewhere in the wiring
harness, inside the climate control unit, or other places that are not easily
reached. Diagnosis is done at a rate of $85/hour, with a minimum charge
of a half hour.
